The Great Western Council of Optometry (GWCO) has honored Dr. David Stanfield of Pacific Cataract and Laser Institute in Chehalis, WA, with their 2022 Lifetime Achievement Award. Dr. Stanfield joined PCLI in 1988 and served as OD Director from 2012 to 2021. He has been instrumental in developing and growing one of the nation’s gold-standard programs for optometric comanagement. Dr. Stanfield is a longtime member of AOA and OPW, an AAO fellow, and an ABO diplomat. He has served on the OPW Executive Committee from 2019 and was OPW President from 2021-2022. Dr. Stanfield has been active within the OPW for many years. He was also involved in the successful scope expansion movements in Washington State in the late 80s and 90s. Congratulations, Dr. Stanfield! And thank you for your continual efforts to advance and improve the profession of optometry.
